We had our first trip to Disney this month :) Everyone had a blast, though after 7 days, we were all completely exhausted!

Updates all around!

Alex and Mackenzie are doing GREAT in preschool. They love their teacher, love learning, and bring hoe some pretty great artwork. Mackenzie is into cooking lately. She also loves to pretend to do hair and make-up. Roc is obsessed with SuperMan, BatMan, Spiderman....... They also pretend to be the WonderTwins often.

Reese is a walking, talking awesome little girl. She tries to do everything her brother and sister do. Her hair is still wild, but longer and very soft. She has her favorite toy Roo and blanket Purple that she loves to cuddle. She does great eating with a fork and LOVES cheese :)

Roc was freaked by the sand for a while and wanted to be held, Kenz did wonderful splashing and playing, and Reese loved the water!

Roc is really trying to swim at the pool. He goes in the deep end, kicks his feet, and blows bubbles.

Kenz is really trying to avoid swimming at the pool. She sits on the ladder, blows bubbles in the puddles on the concrete, and asks for snacks.

Reese LOVES the pool. She kicks her feet, splashes and screams if you take her out of the water

We went and saw fireworks on the 4th. The kids were good, and Scott had packed an awesome dinner picnic for us.

Reese took 2 steps today. Ahhhh!

At the mall today, Kenzie saw a nun. She took that opportunity to yell "Mommy!!! Look at that girl! She's getting married." Ummmm, yeah.

Did you hear screaming this morning around 11:30? It was Roc. We were in Old Navy and he found a Super Grover T-shirt. He starting shaking, yelling, and dancing with it. He even kissed it a few times, for good measure. Really. He was pulling it on before we were through the doors.

In other news, Reese is crawling, standing, climbing stairs, and yelling "Dat!" if she wants something. She loves "real" food now too- pasta, soft bread, cheese, fruit, pancakes, quesidillas.... How is she this big already?

Kenz is doing fabulously, announcing frequently "I love summer. I don't like cold and rain. Just summer." She is also busy deciding what kind of cake Reese would like for her birthday, determining which errands she would like to do each day, and begging for Ritas water ice every chance she gets.

Sesame Place

The weather was beautiful today so we took the kids to Sesame Place. Roc and Kenz were sooooo excited. They were up at 6am, offering to help make breakfast and bringing me my shoes. We had a great day- there were no lines and the kids went on every ride at least once. Reese held up well too. She loved looking around and then took a decent nap in her stroller. Roc was a little bummed that he didn't get to see his beloved Super Grover, but other than than, they said it was the "best day ever!"

Our mall has automatic trash cans-- there is a sensor that opens the lid for you. The kids thInk it is awesome. Today Roc threw a napkin away and the trash can said "Thank you." Roc turned around, said Ypur welcome!" and kissed the garbage can. Eeeewww!

Reese is crawling! She had her 9 month appointment today and weighed in at 21 pounds and was 29 inches long. Big baby! She learned to clap her hands too and has been yelling "Maaa! Daaaa!" whenever she wants something. She is SUCH a good baby though. She rarely cries and just loves to be around her brother and sister.

Kenzie is overjoyed that dress weather is upon us. She recently started trying to match things and does a pretty good job. Today she was excited that black shoes were the same color as her skirt. She is completely obsessed with Dino Dan and pretends to call him on her phone at least 5 times a day.

Roc has been really into Disney movies lately and loves to act out scenes. He gets all into it and does a pretty good job. Right now he loves Snow White and 101 Dalmatians. Pirates are another big thing and he marches around singing pirate songs, wearing a pirate hat.

The big kids have been awesome about going out to eat too. We've been doing a weekly date with Aunt Maureen and they love looking at the menu and ordering their own food. They also have been helping put laundry away and picking up their toys. Yay!

Mackenzie and Alex are almost 3!!!! Insane. They get themselves dressed. They are potty-trained (for the most part). They can have an actual conversation with you. They can also argue pretty well, no longer nap, and think they are culinary critics.

Reese got her first tooth 2 weeks ago. She is loving baby food but will only eat organic. Try to give her some regular old Gerber peas and she acts like you are killing her! She loves to jump, thinks her brother and sister are hysterical and loves to laugh.

Roc and Kenz are so BIG!!! Nothing like a tiny baby to make your kids look giant. They are talking non-stop and have a great memory. The don't forget ANYTHING. They also have an amazing sense of direction (unlike me). I think it is time for another "Favorites" update:

She hates being on her belly and will scream like crazy if she wants to be held. She loves her brother and sister and always smiles when they sing to her :)

We have been watching lots of Yo Gabba Gabba: We seem to like each other a lot more lately: Mackenzie has turned into a diva: We finger paint: They also : talk in sentences, sing (and tell Scott and I "No singing"), count to ten, love to hold hands, inhale Rita's water ice, beg for Moe's Tacos, love the zoo and turned two!! Alex loves to look at the moon and tell you "cow jumped over moom! Over Moom! Get down Moom!" He carried his blanket (named Texas) all over the house, and is a pro at coloring and his ABCs. Kenzie is very into having her toe nails polished and wearing dresses (Where did this child come from?!?). She also loves to read books, take showers and cuddle "pink" (her blanket).

Please Touch Museum

Mackenzie and Alex went to the Please Touch Museum today. They had a great time!!! The museum has a grocery store, shoe store (Kenzie's fave), busses, cars, a treehouse, medical center and Wonderland.

We had our first real snowstorm! Roc and Kenzie loved the snow. They loved their snowsuits, thought boots were awesome, and snow was pretty tasty.

Christmas was super fun too. There were two small battles: One over Big Bird, and one over a Yo Gabba Gabba book. Kenzie fell in love with Mrs. Potato Head's glasses and chose to wear them around. Roc spent his morning nurturing a lion cub. They also loved the slice and bake cookie set from Aunt Liz. The other hot toys were: Cabbage Patch kids, Elmo microwave, Elmo laptop, and the table and chair set.

Little Miss Mackenzie had her first ED visit this past Sunday. She was jumping on the bed and smacked into the footboard. Scott took her to the ED and they quickly glued it shut and sent her on her way.

Roc and Kenzie have been busy kids!!! They have been climbing out of their cribs for a few weeks now, but they can't get back in. When Scott went to check in on them the other day, this is what he found:

After emptying the drawers and playing with some toys, Kenzie had decided to pull down the changing table pad and sleep on it. We decided to convert them to toddler beds which has been...exhausting. They run around at naptime, emptying the wipes container, squirting lotion on every surface in the room, emptying drawers..... Everything but sleeping. When Scott told Roc it was naptime nad he needed to get back in bed, Roc told him "I know. I know!"

In other news, they went to a party this weekend at a friends house and had a great time. Kenzie ate 5 pigs in a blanket as soon as we got there, followed by a handful of icing and enough candy to last a year.

New Tricks

I thought I should update you on some of the new tricks that the kids have been doing. Both are able to climb out of their cribs, but (luckily) don't get out until someone goes in the room and tells them that it is ok. They have been singing (Baa, Baa Black sheep and Row your Boat are favorites). Mackenzie loves to tumble and jump. Alex has mastered fake burping.

The LOVE to spend time with the play kitchen. They mix things, blow on "hot food" and feed you what they make. Scott taught them both to yell "Touchdown" and throw up their hands. They have been saying TONS of works lately and are using prases pretty often, like "I don't know" and "I did it!".

Halloween:
Mackenzie and Alex got to go trick or treating this year! They went to Aunt Debbie's house, and then went to see Grammy and Pop. Candy was great, but they got something even cooler: a bike! Alex was in love because it had flag stickers on it, Kenzie liked going as fast as she could all over the house.

They spent Sunday recovering from their sugar high and watching their favorite sport: Football!

Pumpkins!

Mackenzie and Alex went to the Pumpkin Patch today! They loved running all over and smacking a few pumpkins around. Then we found a pile of baby pumpkins and the each picked one out. We also checked out the farm animals. Kenz was in love with the calves (she called them dogs, but whatever). Roc kept wrinkling up his nose and yelling "ewwww!".

Today was an art day. We tried crayons (Apparently they are delicious!) and we used Play-Doh for the first time. Mackenzie screamed "Ew! Yuck!" over the play-doh, Roc tasted it and then mashed it up. Then after the art buffet, they brushed their teeth :)

Busy, busy babies!

Mackenzie and Alex are busy kids! Yesterday they went to the outlets with Aunt Deb and Derek. We got some great deals at Carters and The Childrens place. Then we hit Sonic for lunch and got to eat outside at the picnic tables!

Last night we took them to the Temple football game at Lincoln Financial Field. They loved clapping and high-fiving the people sitting next to us. I think the half-time show was their favorite~ they were dancing all over the place.

Today Pop stopped by in the morning and then we went to the playground. They are some brave kids. Both of them like to climb to the top of the jungle gym and have no fear. Terrifying for me, fun for them :)

Sesame Place

Mackenzie and Alex went to SEsame Place today and they loved it!! As soon as they saw Big Bird on the sign, they were waving and screaming "Big Bird! Big Bird!" For two hours they blew kisses, clapped, waved and yelled. We though tthey might be a little scared of the characters, but that was not the case. They ran to them, kissed them, and gave high-fives :)

Vacation!

Mackenzie and Alex had their first vacation! They did fine on the plane (a little bit of loud protesting from Kenzie though). They seemed to love our room: They could reach TV buttons and change the channels. Sesame Street is in Spanish (obviously) and they didn't seem to mind. They were VERY bothered by the green Big Bird though!!

They also loved the outside patio and ran around naked at every oppourtunity. Kenzie would pick up the phone and yell "juice! juice!" into the receiver. I think the girl has room service all figured out! They also discovered the bidet which was funny and awful at the same time.

The beach was a big hit. They both thought the waves were hilarious, and the sand was fun. Alex tried to pick up each little bit of seaweed and hand it over saying "yuck".

The pool was their favorite, by far. Mackenzie would wriggle around on her belly and by the end of the week, she was blowing bubbles in the water. Alex loves putting his head under the water and trying to float on his back.

They both learned to say "Hola" and would say it often. They also loved to dance after dinner, feed fish with Gram and Pop, and ride on the golf carts!

Mackenzie and Alex have been busy! They have a new kitchen that they have been busy in. They spend lots of time mixing and sampling things, but the favorite thing to do is beat each other with the plastic celery.

There has been quite a bit of biting going on lately too. Mackenzie usually bites the hardest and leaves the best/worst bruises. Alex took that title yesterday when he bit her ear!!!
